Editorial policy.
Every review on Club by FYR follows the same method. Same rubric, same paid-retail rule, same author byline, same corrections process. What follows is the entire methodology, in the order it happens.
The rubric.
- Materials. Alloy purity (925, 14k, 18k), gemstone provenance (recycled, lab-grown, mined), plating microns.
- Craft. Solder joins, clasp mechanism, stone setting quality, finish under a 10x loupe.
- Ethics. Recycled metal certification, traceable stones, factory audit, worker conditions.
- Price. Value against a solid-gold equivalent at each price band, and against direct competitors.
- Longevity. Wear, tarnish, and clasp behaviour at the twelve-month and five-year mark.
- Style. Wearability across three real outfits, not a single campaign shot.
Each category scores 0 to 5. Thirty points in total. Sub-scores are published on every review, not just the total.
The paid-retail rule.
We buy every piece we review. At full retail. Not at press-loan discount, not at press-day comp. If a brand offers a gifted piece before a review, we decline. If a brand offers a loaner after publication (for a long-wear follow-up at the twelve-month or five-year mark) we accept, disclose, and return the piece.
When we update.
Every review is dated on publish, dated again on any material update. Reviews are re-checked quarterly for the first year, annually thereafter. When a piece changes (new metal, new pricing, new factory) the review is re-scored and the change logged at the foot of the article.
Corrections.
Every correction is logged on the affected article with a date. If a change of fact was significant enough to affect the score, we say so at the top. Complaints and corrections go to [email protected].
Affiliate links.
Every article uses affiliate links where the brand runs a programme. This does not change the ranking. It never has. Full disclosure on the affiliate disclosure page.
