About the Club.
Club by FYR is an independent demi-fine jewellery magazine. Rubric-scored reviews, paid-retail testing, named-author editorial. The whole methodology is public.
Why we exist.
Demi-fine jewellery sits in an awkward middle band, between costume and fine, and most of the writing about it is either brand-owned or affiliate-farm bulk. There was a gap for an editorial voice that treats a £180 vermeil chain with the same seriousness a fashion desk treats a well-cut coat: named, dated, and honest about what it costs to make.
The name is a nod to the original FYR, without claiming continuity. “Fyr” is lighthouse in Norwegian and Danish, which is what we would like the site to be: a small, steady light for a category that is easy to get lost in.
How we review.
Every brand is scored against the same public six-part rubric: materials, craft, ethics, price, longevity, style. Five points each, thirty in total. We pay retail for every piece. Brands hear from us after publication, never before. If a piece disappoints at twelve months, we re-score and log the change on the review with a date.
The full methodology is on the editorial policy page. The affiliate arrangement is on the disclosure page. Neither has ever changed a rubric score.
